Mentoring a FIRST team makes you part of a community of amazing volunteers. Your time, your wisedom, and your commitment will have a direct impact on the students you work with and the community that you will be a part of.

All FIRST mentors:

• Meet with teams regularly.
• Provide as much, or as little, time as your schedule allows.
• Help your team succeed by encouraging, guiding, and supporting your students.
• Build excitement for science, technology, engineering and math through the FIRST experience.

FIRST is a series of after school activities intended to engage students in a science and engineering contest. We use robotics contests as a way to introduce the students to the challenge and fun of being involved with a team. All of our programs are intended for students with no prior experience. The FIRST family has nearly 5000 students involved in the state of Washington across 4 programs and 385 robotics teams and clubs. We have something to offer every student in our state.

FIRST operates four different programs in the state of Washington.
