FIRST is a series of after school activities intended to engage students in a science and engineering contest. We use robotics contests as a way to introduce the students to the challenge and fun of being involved with a team. All of our programs are intended for students with no prior experience. The FIRST family has nearly 5000 students involved in the state of Washington across 4 programs and 385 robotics teams and clubs. We have something to offer every student in our state.

FIRST operates four different programs in the state of Washington.

13 thru 18 yrs	FIRST Tech Challenge		Sep - Jan	Students design and build a custom robot from the new LEGO Tetrix kit to compete in a contest. Click here for more information.
14 thru 18 yrs	FIRST Robotics Competition		Nov - Mar	Large teams of students work with adult mentors to design and build a custom robot to play a game each year. Click here for more information.
