Help make a difference!
FIRST is making a direct impact on thousands of students in Washington and helping create the high tech workforce of the future that our state and country need to compete in the global economy.
Our students are involved in a program that develops:
- Leadership skills
- Teamwork skills
- An interest in science and technology
- The ability to complete tasks in a timely way
Our students are 50% more likely to attend college, twice as likely to major in science and engineering and more 70% more likely to volunteer in their communities. (According to a study by Brandeis University)
We have learned that 65% of our students are interested in working for companies where their mentors work. This is due to the dedication of the mentors and the students becoming familiar with what it means to actually become an engineer or scientist.
How you can help us:
Start new teams across the state:
- $500 will give a new FIRST Lego League (FLL) team more than half the money they need to start a new team.
- $1,000 will give a new FIRST Tech Challenge (FTL) team more than half the money they need to start a new team.
- $5,000 will give a new FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC) team more than half the money they need to start a new team.
Sponsor new and existing events:
- $2,500 will pay for an FLL Regional event for 20 or more teams will attract over 250 students, families and friends.
- $5,000 will pay for an FTC Regional event for 20 or more teams will attract over 500 students, families and friends.
- $10,000 will help underwrite the cost of the 2012 FRC Regional event that will attract over 5,000 students, families and friends.
