inspire students in Seattle

FLL Team with Mentors

Volunteering with FIRST Washington is a great way to impact today’s youth in a new and exciting way, and there is a unique role for every person. Students are excited to be able to work with people from industry and feel honored that an adult from their community will contribute time to help them excel.

Amazon, Seattle Public Schools, and FIRST Washington are partnering to bring computer science and robotics to up to 30 Title 1 Seattle Public Schools as part of the Amazon Future Engineer program. Each of the schools will receive support to launch FIRST robotics teams, including teacher professional development to learn about robotics, and support from Amazon to expand access to computer science education in their school.

These teams of inspired youth will need mentors with industry experience to guide them into their futures. The youth also benefit from event volunteers who have the unique and exciting opportunity to watch our young participants learn, cooperate and compete while having loads of fun at competitions.

Mentor a Team

As a mentor, you will be the resource that the students can’t find anywhere else. Sharing your knowledge will foster their intellectual growth and inspire them for the future.

Event Volunteer

Event volunteering gives you a chance to see what the students can do, while offering them a place to share it with the community. There are many unique roles for you that will make a change in the students’ lives.
